The department also provides investigative service, domestic violence and anger assessments, and chemical testing for all clients assigned by the District Court or by Minnesota State law. The department is mandated under Minnesota State law to be active in the prevention of juvenile delinquency by working with schools, communities, and agencies. The paramount consideration is to promote public safety and to reduce criminal/delinquent behavior by developing individual responsibility for responsible and lawful behavior.
