Cass County Maps
Cass County Web MappingThe Cass County map program has a new look and added capabilities!
The new Cass County Web Mapping site has been dramatically changed and improved. The previous site consisted of individual map services that were independent, i.e. one map for parcels, one for addresses, one for zip codes, etc. The new mapping program gives you the opportunity to layer many types of data on one map. Much additional data, called layers, is now available to both display visually and identify attributes. An example is: you are searching for information about a land parcel. You locate the parcel and you want to add an aerial photo of the area and information about wetlands. You can add the Cass 2003 photo and the National Wetlands Inventory layers by adding a check in the box in front of the layer name in the Table of Contents on the left side of the map view. Then click the Refresh Map button at the top of the Table of Contents or on the status bar under the display area. The map will now show the aerial photo and the wetlands layer. To find information concerning a layer, make sure that layer is displayed in the Selection Layer window above the display area, and use the Identify button located in the Navigation Tools above the display area. Information about the selected layer will be displayed on the left side of the display area (area where Table of Contents can be located).
In addition to the ability to view and identify much more data, the new Cass County Web Mapping program gives you the ability to search or query on many more layers and on individual data fields for each layer.
There are new features for adding graphics to your map, both text and symbols, printing, and saving the map as a .pdf format document. If you want to make a map of where your home is located, mark it with a symbol, add some text, and then e-mail to your friends, this is now possible using our new mapping program.
We ask that you read through our help file. You can click here on Help with Web Mapping to view or print instructions on how to navigate in and make the best use of this new program. This is also available when you are on the map page by clicking on the Help button above the display or map area.
