Longville Rod and Gun Club

At the direction of the County Board the Cass County Land Department has been assisting the Longville Rod and Gun Club in selecting a location for a gun range.

The following criteria are being used to identify candidate sites:

1.

Size – No minimum size. Required parcel to share a common property line with County Administered Land.

2.

Access to site by road. County road or state highway preferred.

3.

Number of people required to notify during Conditional Use Public Hearing. Lower number of parcels to notify preferred.

4.

Ownership – County or private preferred for ability to purchase in a timely matter.

Examples of sites under review are as follows:

  1. Private parcels that would provide access to inaccessible public land.
  2. Private parcels sharing a property boundary with County land.
  3. Previous gun club site.
  4. County Fee owned land.
  5. Other County Land with lower numbers of privately owned parcels within one mile of the site.
