Timber Sales

Regular Auction

• Open to all bidders
• Will consist of approximately 40% of the volume of the competitive species.
• Sales will be for two (2) years unless otherwise specified.
• One year extensions may be granted.
• Extension fees will be applied at the rate of 10% of the appraised value of any uncompleted cutting blocks.
  

Intermediate Auction

• Limited to bidders with 20 full-time equivalent employees or less.
• No individual may purchase more than 25% of intermediate tracts offered per auction.
• Will consist of approximately 40% of the volume of the competitive species.
• Sales will be for two (2) years unless otherwise specified.
• One year extensions may be granted.
• Extension fees will be applied at the rate of 10% of the appraised value of any uncompleted cutting blocks.
• Tracts not sold as intermediate auctions will be offered as regular auction sales.

Purchase of Sale by the Block

• The payment for each block is determined by the percentage of value in each block after subtracting the downpayment from the total sale price.
• Auction sales not purchased during the oral auction may be purchased for the appraised price as regular auction sales until 4:30 p.m. the day of the oral auction.

Informal Sales

• Sales will consist of timber sales not purchased at auction and other timber sales of multiple species or timber sales too small or unique to offer at public auctions.
• No individual may hold more than two informal sales at any one time.
  Sales will be for one (1) year unless otherwise stated.
  One year extensions may be granted.
• Extension fees will be applied at the rate of 10% of the appraised value of any uncompleted cutting blocks.

Fuelwood Sales

• Available to all purchasers.
• No sales to be sold in standing timber.
• Sales of down wood only.
• Price to be $2.00 per cord with a $25.00 minimum.
• All fuelwood sales will close December 31 of the year issued.
  

Letters of Credit

• Accepted in lieu of cash payment for opening and extending sales.
  Will be submitted for payment 45 days after date initiated.
