This department maintains over 800 miles of road within Cass County and is responsible for the following activities:

Recommending changes in technical policies and operating procedures as they relate to the design, construction, maintenance, and operation of County and County/State Aid Highways.
Performing preliminary and design engineering and obtaining right of way according to State laws and rules.
Overseeing the construction of County road and bridge projects.
Assuring the proper maintenance and operations of all highway facilities, including roads, culverts, bridges, highway maintenance shops
