Child Health Screenings
Child and Teen Checkups (CTC):This program is based on the preventive health philosophy of discovering and treating health problems before they become disabling. CTC includes a check of height, weight, hearing, vision, development, a physical assessment, nutrition counseling, immunizations, and lab work for hemoglobin, lead, and a urinalysis. Children from 6 months to 12 years can be screened.
Water Testing for Fluoride: Well water testing for fluoride levels are required before physicians can prescribe fluoride to children. Results are mailed to the family, physician, and dentist of choice.
School Health: Child health screening, education programs, immunizations, counseling, and consultation are offered to ensure better learning through improved health.
WIC Nutritional Services: The special supplement food program for Women, Infants, and Children (WIC) provides specified nutritious foods and nutrition education to pregnant and breastfeeding women and infants and children up to age 5. Clinics are held monthly in all areas of the county.
