Cass County Environmental Services News

Cass County Environmental Services  Dept. will be providing office staffing and hours at the Sylvan Town Hall at 12956 24th Ave SW , Pillager, on Tuesdays from 9 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. beginning June 1, 2021. 
Residents from the Southern part of Cass County will now be able to visit an ESD Resource Specialist to answer questions and obtain assistance in applying for Land Use Permits for work in Cass County. Contact Levy Bergstrom at 218-820-1902 or visit in person, Tuesdays at Sylvan Town Hall.   We hope to be able to continue this service during the busy summer months to better meet the needs of our citizens in this part of Cass County.

ESD is responsible for all of the following activities:

  • Coordinating the overall administration of environmental service programs for the county.
  • Developing and maintaining environmental programs.
  • Planning, directing, coordinating, and evaluating all planning and zoning activities, as well as environmental health related programs and services.
  • Overseeing all solid waste management activities of the county, including the recycling program, licensure of private waste haulers, transportation, and processing.
