Candidates’ Information

Filing for office is the process by which a candidate’s name gets placed on the ballot.  These requirements vary depending on several factors including:

  1. The Office being sought;
  2. Whether or not it is a partisan office or nonpartisan office; and
  3. Whether the candidate is running as a member of a major political party or a non-major political party.

All candidates must complete an Affidavit of Candidacy and pay a filing fee to get their name on the ballot.
