Candidate Filing and Campaign Information
When and Where to File in 2010:
Candidates for county offices may file beginning May 18 through June 1, 2010 at the offices of the County Auditor-Treasurer, Cass County Courthouse, 303 Minnesota Ave W, Walker, MN. Normal business hours are 8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. The office will remain open until 5:00 p.m. on June 1st to accept candidate filings. Candidates for state and judicial offices that live in Cass County may file during this same period of time, either at the county offices or at the offices of the Minnesota Secretary of State.
The county offices that will be up for election in 2010 are County Attorney; County Recorder; County Sheriff; County Commissioners in Districts 1, 2 and 4; and, Soil & Water District Supervisors in filing Districts 1 & 5.
Candidates for township, city and school district offices will file with their respective local township, city or school district clerk. The filing period for these offices will be August 3 through August 17, 2010. Township and city clerks’ contact information is available at this link: Clerk
