Candidate Filing and Campaign Information

When and Where to File in 2014:


Candidates for county offices may file beginning May 20 through June 3, 2014 at the offices of the County Auditor-Treasurer, Cass County Courthouse, 303 Minnesota Ave W, Walker, MN. Normal business hours are 8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. The office will remain open until 5:00 p.m. on June 5 to accept candidate filings. Candidates for state and judicial offices that live in Cass County may file during this same period of time, either at the county offices or at the offices of the Minnesota Secretary of State.

The county offices that will be up for election in 2014 are County Commissioners in Districts 1 and 4; County Attorney, County Recorder, and County Sheriff; and, Soil & Water District Supervisors in filing Districts 1 and 5.

Candidates for township, city and school district offices will file with their respective local township, city or school district clerk.  The filing period for these offices will be July 29 through August 12, 2014. Township and city clerks’ contact information is available at this link:  Clerk

The filing period for the Kego Township board positions runs from Dec. 31, 2013 to Jan. 14, 2014.
